A vine swinger in the jungle, but a true gentleman on the red carpet! Margot Robbie almost suffered a wardrobe malfunction at the London premiere of The Legend of Tarzan on Tuesday, July 5. But her costar Alexander Skarsgård stepped in and saved the day.
While the True Blood alum, 39, and the Wolf of Wall Street actress, 26, posed for pictures on the red carpet, Robbie’s printed Miu Miu dress — complete with a keyhole cutout, a high slit, an open back and sheer paneling — came undone. (She accessorized with Bally shoes.) No sooner than she’d noticed did Skarsgård hop behind his leading lady and button her back up.
The pair then finished the carpet, with Skarsgård, who plays Tarzan opposite Robbie’s Jane, showing off his slim-fit, navy-blue Dior Homme suit. He accessorized the well-tailored ensemble with a skinny midnight tie, a pocket square and lace-up shoes.
On the bond between Legend‘s modernized Tarzan and Jane, Skarsgård told Us Weekly, “Their relationship is very different from most of the old iterations of the movie. Jane is not a victim. You can feel that he needs her as much as she needs him.”
The Melancholia actor also dished on his other favorite costars: the gorillas. “[It] was just the most incredible experience,” he shared. “When the silverback gorilla locks eyes with you, it’s so beautiful and it feels like they see through all your bulls–t and can see straight into your soul.”
