Jennifer Morrison reveals 'How I Met Your Mother' regret

Jennifer Morrison has revealed that she has a major regret about her time starring in How I Met Your Mother.

Morrison played Ted Mosby's (Josh Radnor) love interest Zoey Pierson in season six, and has now revealed that she wanted her character to have a larger significance.

"I kind of was bummed that I wasn't the mother on How I Met Your Mother," she told Parade. "I've always loved that show."

"I was a fan from the beginning, so I was just excited to be a part of it and excited that I got to have such a long arc."

Morrison went on to describe the How I Met Your Mother set as a "wonderful work environment".

"It was by far my favourite thing I've worked on in television in terms of the group of people and the crew and the hours," she said. "I would have loved to have been the mother, but I kind of knew going into it that I didn't fit all the little pieces that they had set up."

She continued: "I didn't have the yellow umbrella and all that stuff, so I knew I wasn't the mom.

"But I met the girl though who is the mom (Cristin Milioti) and she's so sweet. She's such a lovely person, so I thought, 'Well there you go! He got a good wife'!"

Morrison currently plays Emma Swan in Once Upon a Time, which airs on ABC in the US and Channel 5 in the UK.

It was recently reported that Morrison and Once Upon a Time co-star Sebastian Stan have ended their romance.
